Who else benefits? Bilinguals. People learning new languages. Artists, craftspeople, or businesses wanting to connect with audiences where English isn’t the preferred language.

High-level recommendations

  • design for internationalization from the beginning
  • include internationalization in test suites
  • developers, testers, tech writers, product managers, and beta users regularly use the software in languages other than English
  • all developers, testers, tech writers, and product managers have basic internationalization training and see themselves as responsible for the product’s internationalization
