If you’ve ever written any code to authenticate wtih Twitter, you may have been confused by all the signature methods and base strings. You’ll be happy to know that OAuth 2 has vastly simplified the process, but at what cost?

Different services have implemented different versions of the OAuth 2.0 draft spec. The latest is version 16, but the most popular version in the wild is version 10.

The spec says that the scope parameter is a space-delimited string. But people generally use commas instead.
