Biography

Nidhiya V Raj
Student Entrepreneur | Mozillian | Open Source Enthusiast | Innovation Evangelist | Organizer | WoMoz Lead

Currently pursuing Btech Student at School Of Engineering, CUSAT .I have started up a small company called WebAccede with 6 of my friends which mainly concentrates in software solutions. And I’m into web development, UI-UX Design strategies, App development and Social media management. I have won the first prize in AngelHack Hackathon – 2014 with three of my friends with Haggler App .

Ever since I have been a Mozillian I have tried my best to contribute in all possible ways. It’s the concept of open source technology that droved me to Mozilla. Starting as a Firefox user to Webmaker Mentor and Mozilla Representative ( Application Approved ). Under the banner of Mozilla I have organised many webmaker events and WoMoz gathering. Also all of those events has gained a massive attention. The webmaker event named “DINOKIDZ” intended to promote web literacy among and orphans and financially weak kids during summer vacation and recent Maker Party Kochi with 4000+ attendees are few among them. I could successfully conduct the Hackrgirls My dream event a boot camp exclusively for girls during February 2015 under the banner of Mozilla- hackrgirls.womoz.in

Planning to organize more events across Kerala. Could make use of every single opportunity to accomplish Mozilla’s Mission “Doing good is a part of our code”. As an active Firefox Student Ambassador , I have inspired many students to do something different by signing up in to open source projects and activities. Interested both in software and hardware field. I have got selected for the ADA Camp Bangalore and Grace Hopper Celebrations(GHC India) to be held during the month of November 2014.

Apart from Mozilla and College I have been closely associated with DELTA TRIBE – A community of developers, thinkers and makers. And have taken sessions on open source hardware kits like Arduino and Raspberry Pi workshops in Polytechnic Colleges. Have been associated with the DIYHacking – A platform of makers. And have co-authored an E-Book “How to be a maker?” along with Mr.Arvind Sanjeev. Could represent the community in YES -2014 held at ADLUX International Convention Centre. Being a hardware maker I have showcased my product : a women safety gadget during Maker Fest, Ahmedabad India. This product was selected for getting incubated in “KITCO – My Enterprise” – a Technology Business Incubator in Cochin, India
Also it’s my great privilege to be the Student Scholarship Recipient 2014 of Grace Hopper Conference : An international conference held at Bangalore, India . Also I have been invited to the Ada Conference 2014 considering both the technical and non-technical contribution to the society.
