Description

Percona Toolkit is a free, open-source project which contains over 20 advanced command line tools for MySQL. The tools perform a variety of MySQL and system tasks that are too difficult or complex to perform manually, including:

  • Verify master and replica data consistency
  • Efficiently archive rows
  • Find duplicate indexes
  • Analyze queries from logs and tcpdump

The toolkit is sometimes overwhelming: so many tools and so many ways to use them! This session will focus on the most important tools and their primary use-cases so those who are familiar with MySQL but new to the tools can quickly and easily see how the tools can make their life with MySQL easier and more productive.

Speaking experience

Daniel Nichter has been developing MySQL tools since 2004, including the tools at http:://hackmysql.com and now, primarily, the tools in Percona Toolkit.
