Transit in Portland
Venue Location
Open Source Bridge will be held at the Oregon Convention Center (OCC) which is located at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (map) on the east side of Willamette River opposite Chinatown.
Online Planning
If you intend to use Portland's excellent public transit system you will be very well-served by online resources. The public transit system is run by Trimet (http://trimet.org) which has an online trip planner. Google Maps (http://maps.google.com) also shows all public transit options for the city.
Public transit in Portland generally runs very close to the stated schedules, so you can actually believe the recommendations from these sites.
Arrive by Light Rail
The Trimet Light Rail MAX system has a stop at the north-east corner of the venue: Convention Center MAX Station.
If you are staying downtown, take an east-bound Blue or Red line train to the center's station. These trains run along SW Yamhill St and up SW 1st Avenue every 10 minutes or so.
If you are staying at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower, your nearest station is Pioneer Square South MAX Station one and a half blocks north at SW Yamhill and 6th Ave.
Journeys between downtown and the venue are entirely within a free fare zone, so you don't even need a ticket.
Arrive by Bus
The Trimet Bus network's lines #8 and #6 stop near the Oregon Convention Center and run every 15 minutes. Bus journeys between downtown and the venue are free, just tell the driver you are traveling in Fareless Square.
From central downtown locations including the Hilton, catch a #8 bus destination Jubitz from SW 4th Ave & Salmon St. Alight at NE 3rd Ave & Multnomah St and walk one block south.
From downtown locations further south towards Portland State University, catch a #6 bus destination Jubitz from one of multiple stops along SW Columbia St. Alight at NE Grand Ave & Pacific St and walk one block west.
Arrive by Car
The convention center is accessible from Interstate Freeways I-5 and I-84.
The center has underground onsite parking for 800 cars with a maximum daily rate of $8.00. Enter the garage from NE 1st Ave or NE Lloyd Ave.
There are also other parking lots nearby, as well as street parking and a number of privately-owned parking lots (these are not endorsed by the center).
