  • Start planning for the Speakers’ Party.
  • Hacker Lounge planning.
Getting ready for Open Source Bridge
  • Review existing logistics tasks and add missing items.
  • Preliminary on-site planning, start working on setup checklists, volunteer rotation schedule, on-site registration checklists and more.
  • Start talking about AV setup including a plan for streaming, recording and publishing conference content.
  • Very preliminary draft of Master Conference Schedule.

Lots of marketing work to do since we have several big announcements coming up: Venue, Opening Registration and more work to do around the CFP.

At 1:30pm we’ll depart the Market Street Pub for a tour of the Mark Building, located next-door to and north across the courtyard of the Portland Art Museum (1219 SW Park Avenue).

Our first Open Source Bridge volunteer sprint will be this Saturday, February 6 starting at 9am at the Daily Cafe.

Interested in helping out? Some things that need to be done are:

Marketing/Fundraising:

  • Contacting user groups with ‘save the dates’
  • Reaching out to potential sponsors
  • Updating content on the website, wiki
  • Helping to outline future areas of content we should add, blog post topics

Technical:

  • Processing audio and video from last year’s event. A copy of Audacity and a laptop would be helpful for this
  • Work on a pre-conference attendee demographics survey
  • Research on a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system, testing requirements and presenting results to the OS Bridge team
  • Collaborate with the Open Conference Ware team on a ticket purchasing system (starting with Google Checkout, probably also Paypal)

Hacking on code

Hacking on code

We’ll be getting together again this Sunday, March 29, at Ristretto (3808 N Williams) starting at 10am to hack on Open Source Bridge-related code, and work on contacting User Group and university outreach.

We have a list of dozens of user groups and universities to contact. We have tests that need to be written for our conference application. And, if you’ve got some other work to do, and just want to hang out with some hackers – come join us :)

Tell @selenamarie (via Twitter or identi.ca) if you’re planning to come so that she can plan for a group. If you can show up a little early, please do and save us some seats.
