Our OpenConferenceWare system, developed by Open Source Bridge volunteers, has a number of new improvements to help you at the conference (in just two weeks!).
Birds of a Feather
First, it now supports sub-events, such as evening Birds of a Feather sessions. If you’d like to schedule a BoF, go to the proposals page, log in with OpenID, and click the “Submit a Proposal” button for a form to fill in. We’ll confirm these on a first-come, first-served system. If you prefer a particular day or time, leave a note in the “Note to Organizers” field. Also let us know if you’re planning to have food—it needs to be ordered through the convention center. BoFs will be scheduled between 7-10pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Favorites and personal schedules
The next exciting update is that you can “star” your favorite sessions and download a custom schedule to your personal calendar.
Log in with OpenID to enable this feature. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to select the star icon on any page that displays sessions to mark your favorites. Then, click the “My Favorites” link in the sidebar to view your list, and download or subscribe to it in your favorite calendar program.
What’s really great about this is that everyone’s favorites are available to share and browse. You can see mine here. So go ahead, mark some sessions and let your friends know. It’ll make stalking each other in the conference halls that much easier.
But wait… there’s more
One more thing: we now have a shiny speakers page to let you get a closer look at everyone before the conference.
So get going, browse the sessions, mark your favorites, and tell your friends. You only have two weeks to decide which sessions to attend. And if you haven’t registered yet? There’s still time to sign up for Open Source Bridge.
